New Welsh Enterprise Set to Brighten Up Our Bedrooms
Welsh based Hunant Limited has developed an exclusive range of premium organic cotton percale fitted sheets in four sizes, based on traditional authentic Welsh tapestry blanket designs.
The idea of co-founders Myfanwy and Tom Shorey was born in lockdown during COVID-19 and wanting to add some colour and pattern to their sleep environment.
“Having traditionally always preferred plain white as our choice bed linen, we wanting to add some colour and pattern, without overdoing it and compromising the overall aesthetic of the bedroom. After purchasing a beautiful coloured pattern organic sheet from Sweden, after finding there was limited choice for similar products in the UK, so was born the idea of traditional Welsh pattern coloured sheets” explained Myfanwy.
The couple have always loved the traditional Welsh ‘tapestry’ blankets with their large and bold designs. The same structure and patterns have been used for many different products, but until the establishment of Hunant never on bed linen. As well as keeping alive the different patterns by using the designs on the sheets, Hunant will highlight the history of each pattern to be used for the current and all future new range of Welsh design pattern sheets.
“At Hunant we are taking old authentic patterns and replicating these in bold single colours on sustainable 100% organic cotton. We consider it a natural progression for these traditional patterns, common on bed covers to be used on bed sheets, whilst staying true to the original Welsh designs. This is at the heart of Hunant story” said Tom.
“The idea is simply to add a touch of nostalgia and colour without compromising the bedroom aesthetic”.
The limited edition launch range of sheets consist of two authentic Welsh patterns in five different single colourways.
The philosophy of the co-founders is based on the fact that a third of our lives is spent in our beds sleeping – so make sure you are using ‘damn good’ sheets. The premium quality Hunant sheets are 100% organic 200 tread count percale cotton, which are digitally printed. Not only are they great looking but all ethical standards (Oeko-tex & GOTS certified) and sustainable qualities have been considered in their manufacture to ensure minimal impact on our planet.
“We are thrilled with the response we have received to the products based on the trial samples and also following our soft launch on social media following a photoshoot at The Welsh House in West Wales” said Myfanwy.
After gifting local professional photographer Heather Bernie with a sheet after the photoshoot she wrote on Instagram

The Hunant sheets are available on-line for pre-orders from today with delivery expected within 7-10 days.
